a challenging game

Here’s a little game I propose to you – consider the following exercises :

  • burpee – 3points
  • pushup – 2points
  • squat – 1point

Do as many repetitions of whatever exercise you want. At the final, calculate how many points you made. Try to beat that score each time you play again! That is, if you like such games. It’s certainly a way to make your training sessions more fun.

grails gantbinding error

If you’re getting this error :

Error starting Grails: org/codehaus/gant/GantBinding

then you can fix it by changing line 130 of the startGrails.bat file from

set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Dgrails.version="1.1.1-SNAPSHOT"

to

set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Dgrails.version="1.1.1"

This information was originally posted here by Geoff Lane. Thanks Geoff!

some ant tips

Here are some tips I can offer you which will most certainly make your life easier :

  1. use the basedir variable instead of ., ant’s consideration of “.” is very strange
  2. use the ANT_OPTS environment variable to set the java.library.path

If I had known these tips, I would have saved several hours of work.

nice discovery

I got back from work with a big headache, and I ate tuna with chilli. I was surprised to see it go away by the time I was done eating. I credit the chilli for this.
